Dodgy Canberra Report

Recently we got a building report provided by the sellers to us prior to purchase of a property  in Isaacs. The report provided was dodgy, generalized ,full of disclaimers, and  lacked details.  In our opinion, it was a useless document. We are required to pay for this report by current ACT law , if we decide to buy the property.

On advise from our Solicitor , we asked Surety Property to provide an independent report on the condition of the property. On behalf of Surety Property, Mr Brenden Trevaskis promptly carried out inspection on 17 th June 2014 and gave us a detailed report on 18th June 2014.

The report provided identified serious problems with the fence, roof, gutter, dampness, water leaks, defective drainage, wall cracks, damaged air conditioning duct insulation etc. The report greatly helped us in negotiating additional price reduction to rectify the defects noted.

We wish to express  our sincere appreciation for a excellent report provided by the Company. The Building Consultant was prompt ,thorough and described the issues in detail with photographs to identify the problems.
