In real honestly an inspection should nearly take all day but who is going to pay an inspector $1500-$2000 per day. If you pay a little more for a specialist around $700-$900, you should at least get the services of someone who will at least spend 2-3 hours on site and who are more likely to uncover what the 30-minute inspectors will never find. Give yourself a fighting chance to make the best possible decision in the biggest purchase of your life. If you take a referral from a Real Estate agent, make sure you do you own investigations and also chat to other inspection companies, who are not on your selling agents list.
